WLGF Consultative meeting

Each local authority will be represented by one Gender Focal Person and one Gender Champion. The meeting will deliberate on a position paper to be presented at a proposed meeting with  His Excellency the State President E. D. Mnangagwa. The position paper is part of UCAZ’s advocacy for the President to ensure that political parties set aside wards where only female candidates will contest in the next local government elections. There has been a decline in the number of female councillors from 16% attained during the 2013 elections to  14% achieved during the 2018 elections.

The meeting is by invitation.
